The Cherry Trying to Get Back on Top
The Cherry Pit, that swingers club in Duncanville, Texas that was shut down by a city ordinance earlier this month, has filed a lawsuit aimed at the city that is fighting to shut it down. The lawsuit’s claim is that the city is trying to regulate “the most private of human conduct”. The clubs website is at http://www.cherrypit.org/. There you can find links to the original news stories that broke about the club and you can also donate to their legal defense fund if you would like.
Here are a few of my thoughts about the story. First of all, did you notice the lawsuit uses the words “the most private of human conduct. That is a pretty funny statement coming from a swingers club. I also can somewhat relate to the neighborhood complaints of noise, parking, and rowdiness associated with the club…… Now back to reality
Lets face it, The Cherry Pit’s problem is that Duncanville is dead center of the Bible Belt. Those swingers could be lined up planting trees on Saturday nights, and helping every little old lady in town across the street before heading to their “swingers” book club in a sound proof room. It most likely would not reduce the number of complaints about that club more than five percent. That five percent coming from the horny old men that would enjoy watching all those sexy swingers walking the old ladies across the street.
There is one thing that Mrs. Gentlenibbles and I have seen proved evident over and over since entering the lifestyle, and that is that the overall class of people in the lifestyle is incredibly high. We have seen a few that could be described as unsightly, obnoxious, or rowdy, but surely no greater a ratio than could be found in any sports bar on gameday.
We are not naive enough to believe that the lifestyle will ever be accepted as mainstream in our society, but and end to self-righteous judgement would be nice.
That’s OK. They may think we are immoral, but I think they suck in bed!
