Scentsational -”For the Ladies” by Mrs. Gentlenibbles

This is post number three in the FTL(For the Ladies) a series of tips and advice for the ladies by Mrs. Genltenibbles. 

Have you ever been walking down the street and a scent triggered an old memory? Or smelled someone’s perfume or cologne and it reminded you of a first love?

There’s actually a name for it!  It’s called the “Proust Effect,” which is the strong link between smells and emotion.  You can google it and read all kinds of information.  There are even books about how scents affect different aspects of our lives - “Scentsational Weight Loss,” “What Flavor is Your Personality,” “Life’s a Smelling Success” and even “Scentsational Sex.”

What does all this have to do with the lifestyle?

Well, when Mr. Gentlenibbles and I first engaged in the lifestyle, we were in search of a scent that would stimulate memories and excitement for us!  We posted the question on several blogs and received tips on body washes and lotions and all sorts of foo-foo stuff.  We finally found a scent that does it for us - Euphoria by Calvin Klein!!  I only wear it when we go out for a lifestyle event and every time it stimulates memories and drives Mr. G crazy!  Although, I have to admit it brings out that sexy feeling in me, too!

The name of the perfume fits it perfectly.  Euphoria means ecstasy, elation or exhilaration!

 It truly is amazing how powerful the olfactory sense is and how closely related it is to your emotions!Try it - next time you have a special event, such as a cruise, a honeymoon or lifestyle events, find a scent that you don’t normally wear!  From then on, anytime you smell that particular smell, it will bring back all sorts of fantastic memories!!
