Considering a Brazilian Wax? - “For the Ladies” by Mrs. Gentlenibbles

January 9, 2008 by Mrs. Gentlenibbles

Swinging in Houston This is post number four in the FTL(For the Ladies) a series of tips and advice for the ladies by Mrs. Genltenibbles.

If you’re considering waxing, my advice is go for it - whether you start out with a bikini wax or go for the Brazilian!

Until about 2 years ago, the only thing I shaved was my bikini line, but I have come into the modern days of waxing!  It’s all gone and I love it!

I’m not an expert, but I wanted to share my experience because I had no idea what to expect the first time!

First of all, I chose to go to a day spa.  There are some hair salons that offer the service, but I love the atmosphere of the day spas.  It is so much more relaxing.  I called and scheduled an appointment for a Brazilian wax.  You have to let the hair grow out at least 1/4 inch for the wax to be able to remove it, so keep this in mind when scheduling the appointment.

The esthetician was very friendly and made me feel as comfortable as possible.  Her instructions on how she wanted me to position my legs were very clear, and she let me know everything she was doing.

A couple of choices to make that I was unaware of:

1) How much hair do you want to take off or leave?  You can leave a strip or a triangle or remove it all.  My esthetician said she left a heart for one lady as a surprise for her husband for Valentine’s Day.

2) Do you want your butt waxed?  I know this sounds a little strange and it caught me off guard, but I went for it!  It is not nearly as painful as the front!

As for the pain level, on a scale of 1 to 10, the first time is probably a 7.  If you keep it up, the hair gets on a more even growth cycle and makes removal a little easier.  Your pubic area may be tender for a day or two, so if you’re planning to do it for a special occassion, plan accordingly.

The only bad thing about waxing is that you have to let the hair grow for about 4 weeks between waxings.  If you wait too long, it’s like starting all over for the first time!

Everyone is different.  My esthetician said that laser hair removal is not for everyone.  It works better on lighter skinned people because the laser travels down the dark hair.  If your skin is dark, detection is not as accurate.

As I said before, I am not an expert, but I definitely recommend waxing.  It sure beats razor burn!  What are your thoughts and opinions on this topic very close to our ….hearts?

I shouldn’t really speak out here (as a man) but I am going to push the old barrow. Again …

    Save the native bush.

The natural (but carefully managed) bush is coming back in Europe. It seems countries like Australia and America haven’t caught up yet.

Many men don’t mind a natural look. Many prefer it.

Of course you don’t do it for the men but that is a small reason to consider regeneration.

    Luke ;D
