January 20, 2008 by Mr. GentleNibbles
Welcome to the third of thirty weekly updates that will be coming every Sunday until the completion of the Swingfest Swingdown 2008. The Swingfest Swingdown is a motivational contest and tool that Mrs. Gentlenibbles and I, along with some of our readers, are participating in to help us get in the best shape of our adult lives for Swingfest on July 31, 2008! Well, the third week of the Swingdown was relatively uneventful and good progress is still being made. Despite travelling for work this week and missing a running session due to illness I was able to post a good 2.5 pound loss for the week. Mrs. Gentlenibbles did really well this week giving her some encouragement after a relatively slow start to the Swingdown.
Mr. Gentlenibbles
Weight loss for the week- 2.5 lbs
Total weight loss - 9 lbs
Best mile time - 9:08 min
Exercise
Monday - Jogged 1 mile, ran 1.5 miles, walked 1/2 mile, ran 1/2 mile, walked 1/4 mile
Tuesday - Lifted weights
Wednesday - Jogged 1 mile, ran 3-1/2 miles alternating walking 3-1/2 miles, walked 1/4 mile
Thursday - Lifted Weights
Saturday - Ran 6-1/4 miles alternating walking 6 1/4 miles
I have switched my warm up on run days from walking 1/4 mile to jogging a mile. I have found my runs are better with a little more warm up, and I really don’t feel jogging a mile tires me anymore than walking. (Thats a good sign) This also will help get my overall miles up a little bit, which should help with bulk calorie burning. I fought off a sinus infection for a good part of the week. I was actually able to run and lift with it on Wednesday and Thursday, but Friday I just felt a little to worn out. Not to mention we had a play date scheduled for Saturday night, and a swinger must have his priorities
Mrs. Gentlenibbles
Weight loss for the week - 3 lb
Total weight loss - 5 lbs
Longest run - 3.75 miles
Exercise
Monday - Eliptical Trainer for 1 hour/3.5 mi
Tuesday - Walked 1.75 mi/ran 1.5 mi/40 min
Wednesday - 7mi on stationary bike
I had some good workouts this week, although my schedule toward the end of the week got a little hectic, so I did not get to workout as much as I would have liked to. Fortunately, watching what I am eating still allowed me to loose some weight this week!
Well, once again we have yet to convince any of you sexy swingers out there to join us, but fortunately our support from each other has been motivation enough to keep us going for now. Hopefully, we will get some to join us before the going gets tough.
Last week I made a joke saying,
“So come join on and join us! We will be the ones at the track in spandex pants and t-shirts that say “We Run to F*ck”……just kidding”
I started thinking that may be a great idea. What if we organized a 5K event for all those Swingin’ runners out there called the “Run to F*ck 5k” Would anyone join us?

Greg,
Thanks so much for your comment! We are glad you like the idea of the Swingfest Swingdown 2008. Now we just need you guys to come on board and let us hold the “We Run To F*ck 5K”
during Swingfest!
Just a thought??? We would be glad to do all the leg work! Literally…
Mr. and Mrs. Gentlenibbles!
It’s great to see you’re both making such great progress. Do you have a favorite place where you always run, or do you run at a number of different locations?
Thanks Hotties (aka Greg and Sheryl)
I(Mr. G) usually do my running at the local high school track or at a local park. Mrs. G almost always does the treadmill at the gym.
I really enjoy long runs through the neighborhoods, but we have all concrete streets and it is a bit rough on the knees.
How is your fitness plans going. We saw your post about the new equipment and plans.
Good Luck,
Mr. and Mrs. Gentlenibbles
