Iniquity Houston - A Swing Club Review

We ventured out this past weekend to Iniquity here in Houston. High Maintenance hosted a “Sinners and Saints” party. We arrived at 10:30PM and there was not very many people there, which was a little disheartening, but it turned out to be a great night! It is still a fairly new club, so hopefully, attendance will pick up!! Here are our initial thoughts on this club:

Her Impression: 

The atmosphere of the club is very clean and comfortable. There are many chairs and tables, as well as comfy seating areas with full size leather sofas. It is very spacious. The dance floor isn’t huge, but it’ll do.

We toured the VIP area, which is closed off with a set of double doors. The VIP members can see you, but you can’t see them through one way mirrored walls!! Again, there are lots of seating areas with full size sofas. There is a small dance floor where we are assuming a stripper pole will be in the near future. We were also told that a shower with glass walls is going to be added in the VIP area. The downfall of the VIP area is the cost! One night is $100!!

The staff members of the club were very professional and the waitresses were even dressed in the theme! Set-ups for drinks are not free, and they only let you bring in liquor. They do monitor this by not allowing coolers. They provide you with a silver ice bucket at the door.

The fees to get in the door were reasonable. Thanks to High Maintenance, their guests enjoy a discount. For us, the location is okay. Definitely better than the hour drive to the North side of town that we have been making!

His Impression:

To begin with the website was very helpful, and had a clean look to it.  I feel this is important to allow couples new to the lifestyle to be comfortable before making the decision to come to the club.  It even had hotels and other information close to the club to help in your planning.

The club itself is in a pretty good area of town, off of the Richmond strip.  The area has many popular clubs and bars around making Iniquity fit right in.  The club itself is nestled one street off of Richmond giving the club much more privacy and security.

The club is by far the most upscale of all the clubs we have been too.  The attention to detail and the quality of decor and furnishings really give a great impression.  You definitely know from the moment you walk in the club, that you are in a classy place.

Security in and around the club felt very high and allowed for a comfortable entrance and exit to the club.

Valet parking did not seem mandatory, as it appeared there would be nothing wrong with parking across the street at Club Onyx and walking over. (I would advise checking before doing this)

There were a couple of drawbacks about the club, but all of these surrounded policies and hopefully they will correct them.  To begin with, they do not allow you to start tabs at the bar, you must pay in cash for every round.  I recognize this is probably done to encourage more tipping for the waitresses , but I just find it annoying.  To add to the idiocy of this cash only policy, they do not have a ATM on site.  I was told if I needed cash I could ask the lady up front and she could “probably” help me out.  All of this is solved if you just start tabs on a credit card like 99% of all bars across the county.

Another drawback was the $100 dollar a night VIP area.  The VIP area had no private rooms and though it was separated from the entire club, it had the same appearance.  Basically in its current state the VIP area is nothing more than an area where management won’t ask you to “cool it” if the action heats up.  This makes it seem more like a scheme than a play area to me.

The last thing I found slightly off, was that they do not sell a one day temporary membership for first time visitors, but yet the shortest membership you could buy was three months.   Granted with the High Maintenance discount, the three month membership and cover was relatively cheap, but I would be afraid those couples new to the lifestyle that did not go on a discount night may be a little more reluctant to pay for a three month membership at a place they are not sure they are going to stay for more than ten minutes. 

I recognize I am being pretty picky, because overall we were tremendously impressed with the club and will definitely be back!  So what is the overall Impression of the club?

Iniquity is a great lifestyle club and in our opinion definitely worth checking out!
