Swingfest Swingdown 2008 - Week 5 Update

Welcome to the fifth of thirty weekly updates that will be coming every Sunday until the completion of the Swingfest Swingdown 2008.  The Swingfest Swingdown is a motivational contest and tool that Mrs. Gentlenibbles and I, along with some of our readers, are participating in to help us get in the best shape of our adult lives for Swingfest on July 31, 2008!  View the current results of the Swingdown here!

Let me begin by letting you know today is Mrs. Gentlenibbles Birthday!  So give her a little B-day love in the comments below! 

The word of the Fifth week of Swingdown was “Lazy”!  Neither Mrs. Gentlenibbles or myself set records in the working out department.  This was one of those weeks where we were just busy enough to make excuses to keep from going to the gym and managed to miss some workouts.  That being said, we stayed very well disciplined in our eating and both of us posted overall weight loss for the week!

Mr. Gentlenibbles 

Weight loss for the week- 2.5 lbs
Total weight loss - 11.5 lbs
Best mile time - 9:08 min

Exercise
Tuesday - Lifted Weights/ Ran 1.5 miles on Elliptical

OK from looking above you can see I did not get that much accomplished this week as far as working out is concerned.  I had originally decided to skip the running this week due some tenderness in my left knee.  I have had some pretty bad knee injuries in the past, which over the years has caused me to be very careful about letting them rest if they start “talking to me”.  That being said I had intended to use the break in the schedule to make sure I got at least three weight training sessions in, as well as some time on the elliptical.  That is where the mildly busy week coupled with a boatload of “feeling lazy took over” and thus the piss poor report card above.

Weight loss for the week - .5 lb
Total weight loss - 5.5 lbs
Longest run - 3.75 miles

Exercise
Tuesday - lifted weights; ran 1 mi; walked .5 mi
Saturday - ran 2 mi; walked .5 mi

I had a really bad headache Monday, so I didn’t work out.  That was not a good way to start out the week!!  I did stay consistent in eating healthy, which is what allowed me to still loose .5 pound.
