February 18, 2008 by Mr. GentleNibbles
Welcome to the combined 6th and 7th of thirty weekly updates that will be coming every Sunday until the completion of the Swingfest Swingdown 2008. The Swingfest Swingdown is a motivational contest and tool that Mrs. Gentlenibbles and I, along with some of our readers, are participating in to help us get in the best shape of our adult lives for Swingfest on July 31, 2008! As stated in our post earlier this week, we are posting nothing but excuses for the last two weeks of the Swingdown. Mrs. Gentlenibbles has made it to the gym a couple of times which is way more than I have managed to accomplish.
The good news is we have signed up for another 5K that we are running next Saturday and have resworn ourselves to the regime. We feel confident that next weeks Swingdown will bring much more positive results.
So as for now we are at a “nothing lost, nothing gained” status over the last few weeks. Our results are as follows.
Mr. Gentlenibbles
Total weight loss - 11.5 lbs
Best mile time - 9:08 min
Mrs. Gentlenibbles
Total weight loss - 5.5 lbs
Longest run - 3.75 miles
Looking forward to better results, better news, and renewed willpower by the Swingdown report next week!

Was just swinging (that was not ment as a punn) by to check on your progress with the weight loss and or redistribution.
You really just have to deal with the setbacks, bad days, bad weeks etc. and just keep plugging away at it.
My wife was really struggling for the last month or so. Just the other day though she put on a pair of pants and wore them to work and came home bitching that they were to tight and got depressed. Only to find out they were an old pair of her pants that were a size below where she thought her waist was.(She was stunned she could fit in them)
As for the boredom factor, just try throwing in new things from time to time. We actually went to thrift stores, garage sales and online and have just picked up workout videos of every sort.
Some are fun while others will make you look at what you were doing that was so boring with a lot more affection.
Good luck you two.
Thanks Johnny,
Tell the wife congrats! It is always more difficult when I travel. I have a lot less motivation on the road, as well as buddies wanting to go get a beer every night. And Mrs. “G” has a lot more on her plate when I am out of town which makes getting to the gym tougher. We our keeping our eye on the prize for now, and hopefully will get our groove back soon!
