Iniquity Lost, Radiance Gone, and Venus No More

The last month has taken a terrible toll on the swing clubs in the Houston area.  Within a period of a couple of weeks, three separate clubs shut their doors for the last time and closed up shop.  These clubs were Iniquity, Radiance, and Venus.  The first two had been around for awhile, but the club Venus we had only heard about a week or two before we heard of it’s closing.

At first news of this a small amount of panic appeared, as we were afraid there was some larger anti-swinger forces at play in the area.  In reality, it was probably needed and will only enhance the Lifestyle atmosphere in the Houston area.

You see, in Houston, we had a unique problem arise over the last year and a half.  That problem was a tremendous proliferation of swing clubs within the Houston metroplex area.  We grew from two legitimate clubs a couple of years ago to five or six clubs operating last month.  This may sound like a great thing which confirms the tremendous growth of the Lifestyle in the Houston area over the last few years, but in reality even with the explosive growth of new swinger couples venturing into the Lifestyle there still was not enough warm (and lubed….) bodies to support all of these clubs.

As a matter of fact, one our biggest complaints over the last six months or so has been trying to find a club with a really good sized crowed.  The presence of so many choices for couples meant that all the clubs had decent, but smaller crowds and it was much more difficult to find the really big parties! 

Many of you know that Iniquity was one of our favorite clubs, but we were beginning to see the writing on the wall as they were really having difficulty drawing a steady crowd from weekend to weekend.  In their location with high rent and luxurious facilities, they needed good member support in order to hang in and that just never happened.

Along with all of these clubs competing for your sex swapping dollars, there has been a number of party planners planning large meet and greets at vanilla locations across the city.  These meet and greets are often drawing hundreds of couples who probably would have been in a swinger’s club, if there was not a meet and greet to attend.

Some hardcore Lifestylers will say that these swinger meet and greets at vanilla locations are bad for the Lifestyle and that swingers should support the swing clubs in our area, as they support our Lifestyle.  Mrs. G and I are not of this opinion.

First of all, the vanilla locations bring tons of fresh meat….oops, I mean new couples, that would never have the courage to attend a swing club.  Secondly, they are just absolutely too much fun to do without them.  Something about all that sexual energy trapped in a vanilla bar, makes the after parties explosive!   Finally, I love to use a little bit of my imagination when it comes to staring at sexy new couples, and the vanilla bars bring out the sexy jean skirts and other outfits deemed a little too conservative for the typical swing club!

So, even though we will miss Iniquity as well as the other clubs, Houston’s swinger scene probably just got a little better now that there gone!  At least we hope!!!

If you don’t live in Houston, you have got to come party down here at least once in your swinger life!  It is such a great place for the Lifestyle, that we firmly believe can hold it’s own against any other sexy scene across the country!!!
