Forbidden a Pleasure – The Rising of the South

Let me set this article with a little Houston, Texas, swinger history.  For some unknown reason since the beginning of time, Houston has had trouble finding a great swingers club anywhere South of our 38th parallel which is Interstate 10 cutting through the center of town.

This failure has for years enslaved us southsiders into making hour plus drives to the multitude of swingers clubs on the North side of town.  Having to drive this far to a club forces a couple to spend more money, be much less spontaneous, and often disrupt good times!

It is not that Houston has not fielded some swingers clubs on the South side of the city before, it is just that the clubs opened have often been doomed for failure from the beginning.  Their failure has not been from a lack of willing patrons here on the South side, but more from one club after another being hastily planned, poorly maintained, and in some cases, flat out unsafe.  Read a review of once such club here that Mrs. Gentlenibbles and I attended prior to its closing last year.

Now, from the ashes of all those previous clubs one club has arisen and we think it may just be the club to finally overcome the South side curse…

This weekend Mrs. Gentlenibbles and I had the pleasure of finally getting a chance to check out the Swing Club Forbidden.  The club has been around for several months, but due to past experiences with clubs in that area and a busy schedule we just now got the chance to check it out!

We are so glad that we did!  Forbidden really is a great club that has terrific owners who really seem to understand the Lifestyle and how to market to its participants.  The club has a fantastic layout that offers plenty while keeping the club open, approachable, and sociable.  While yes, this club is in the neighborhood that some of the other rougher clubs were in, it is in a much better spot.  The club is in a well-lit retail center in a much less traffic heavy commercial part of the neighborhood, which really helps with the perceived safety and security of the club.

When entering the club we found the inside of the club to be well thought out, very clean and reasonably priced.  There are flavors for every taste including two voyeur rooms with large beds and windows to the main club.  There is a small dungeon room equipped with a motorized swing and several VIP areas right off the main area of the club marked by white drapes.  The owners told us that they were planning on replacing the drapes with full blown walls, but to be honest, Mrs. Gentlenibbles and I thought the whole voyeur and eavesdrop aspect of the VIP area made them all the more sexier.

Some of the only negative complaints we had heard about the club was about the crowd.  At least on the night that we were there, we found nothing to be further from the truth.  The crowd last Friday night was awesome!  There was a large crowd of very diverse swingers.  There were couples ranging in all ages, races, and body types with the one shared attribute of being extremely friendly.  As far as socializing and networking, it was one of the funnest nights Mrs. G and I have had at a club in awhile.  Clubs full of only young, sexy, and beautiful people are great to look at, but often a little cliquish and hard to make friends in.  That being said there were plenty of sexy couples to go around at Forbidden that night!

One of the few drawbacks about the club we would point out is the website.   As with most swingers club’s websites, Forbidden has a somewhat amateur flash and graphic heavy, content light website that has broken images and typos throughout.  It also did not make it very clear what to expect when coming to the club.  It was hard to figure out just how much it would cost to get in, much less if there were charges for ice, setups, valet, VIP, etcetera.  Since Mrs. Gentlenibbles and I always look at things from a “How does this help new couples in the Lifestyle” perspective, we would be concerned that newbies who checked out this site, may not be put at ease enough to consider coming on out to brave the club.  So if you are a newbie, don’t let the website hold ya back, come on out and check out the club!  You will be glad you did!

As you can see, overall we were very impressed with the club and plan on going back!  Furthermore, we are crossing our fingers and encouraging all of our many South side Lifestyle brothers and sisters to move past the disappointments and setbacks of other clubs down here in the past to give Forbidden a real chance to become our “Close to Home” place to party and play!
